What It Costs

FEES
Effective April 1, 2022

HOURLY RATES:

Attorney - $400.  Paralegal - $220.  Legal Assistant - $160.

FLAT FEES:

Estate Planning

All Will Packages include Will, Power of Attorney for Health Care, Power of Attorney for Finances, Health Care Directive and Community Property Agreement.

Price to be confirmed at initial consultation with attorney, influenced by if for one or two persons, distribution plan, and number of beneficiaries.

Simple Will Option: Up to $1,500.

Will with Trust (for example, for minors, or disabled beneficiaries): Up to $1,800.

Revocable Living Trust (Multi-state planning) or Optional Tax Planning (for Estates over $2,193,000): Up to $4,000.

Powers of Attorney and/or Health Care Directive: included with Will Package, otherwise hourly.
Review of Existing Documents (prepared elsewhere): included with Will Package, otherwise hourly.
Codicil (Simple change to your Will prepared by our Firm): determined at initial consult.
Changes in Other Documents (Powers of Attorney prepared by our Firm): determined at initial consult.

Real Estate

  • A. Preparation of Purchase and Sale documents when buyer and seller are identified, all terms agreed, and Escrow and Title firm are used for closing - $1,500.00. Title Insurance and Escrow fees are determined by the firms engaged by the parties. These costs are not included in the flat fee.
  • B. All of A above, plus preparation of standard Seller Financing documents - $2000.00.
  • C. Preparation of Quit Claim Deed and Real Estate Excise Tax Affidavit - $500.00. Fee includes a short consultation with client, document preparation, and meeting with client for signing. Express mail, recording fees, and excise tax paid by client.

Advice on process of 'for sale by owner', review of offers, analysis and resolution of issues related to the property but outside of the purchase or sale transaction will be invoiced at the attorney's hourly rate.
